Couldn't be more pleased with the outcome…working with Pam and Kurt was a pleasure from beginning to end!

Carol Dougherty

Kurt,

Thank you again for yet another job well done! We will reach out soon and set up a time to grab some drinks with you and Pam. Please find below a

recommendation:

After being impressed with Kurt's work and professionalism on a complicated kitchen backsplash project that I gave up on as it required the removing and rebuilding of a wall, my wife, Sarah, and I knew that we would not bother looking to any other contractor when it came time to add in-floor electric heating and tile to approximately 400 square feet in our partially-finished, cold and drafty basement.

Not only did Kurt do a stunning job installing the in-floor heating, tile and baseboards, but we agreed with his recommendation to add some electrical outlets and drywall to the unfinished and drafty laundry room. The job ended up going above and beyond our expectations, and I think we are still in shock about how cozy and warm the floors feel to walk on, and how finished and beautiful the rest of the basement looks. The drafts are no more, and we find ourselves standing down there (without socks!) enjoying the feel and just staring out how great it all looks. I imagine the value the work has added to our home is at least double what it cost to complete.

It is also important to note that, during the time Kurt was working, we had contractors coming and going doing repairs that were needed after plumbing-related flooding. Kurt went above and beyond his call-of-duty and ensured said contractors were doing quality work, which we are extremely grateful for.

In closing, we cannot say enough about Kurt's work and character, and we cannot wait to be able to use him to give an extreme makeover to our master bathroom.

Sincerely,

Kris and Sarah Venema

To Whom It May Concern,

If you are seeking a tile contractor, please consider this enthusiastic letter of recommendation regarding Evergreen Tile Company.

We were contemplating a small but important construction project, extending a landing and creating steps for the front entry of our home.  Although aesthetics were a key factor, we were expecting to approach the project primarily from a utilitarian perspective.

Then, in the course of our exploration, we were lucky enough to find Pam and Kurt from Evergreen Tile Company.  A mere 2 1/2 weeks later, we are proud owners of a stunning work of art, exquisitely crafted and built to last.  Since any superlative complimentary term would be an understatement, we’ll just sum it up with “WOW!”  This amazing work is now a centerpiece for our home, and will be admired for years to come.

However, the end product was only one refreshingly positive aspect of this contracting experience.  We contacted Evergreen Tile Company on a Tuesday afternoon, Kurt came to evaluate the job on Thursday morning, Pam provided a detailed written proposal and bid on Friday, and work began the following Monday!  We’ve dealt with a lot of contractors, and that never happens (until now).  Again, “WOW!”

Throughout the course of the project, we were kept fully informed regarding the progress and methods involved, and our input and involvement regarding the design were welcomed and encouraged.  Kurt was here every day for two weeks - first constructing an impressive radial form and wrangling 2.5 tons of concrete, then refining and finishing the concrete, and finally creating a mosaic masterpiece with porcelain tile.

The extraordinary level of craftsmanship, rigor and inspiration, together with the consistently pleasant interaction and comfortable collaboration, puts this experience in a class all by itself.  We give owners Pam and Kurt and the Evergreen Tile Company our absolute highest recommendation.

Pam and Kurt,

Sarah and I could not be happier with the customer service from the both of you and Kurt's actual work to give us a stunning backsplash in our kitchen. As you know, we had some leftover faux stacked stone from a kitchen backsplash project we had done at our now rental in Denver, and we wanted to bring the look to the new digs. The job in Denver did not require re-building the wall before installing new backsplash as the existing tile could be removed from the wood behind it. The contractor had a much easier job to do, and although it did look good in the end, I never felt it looked all that impressive, either. The stacked stone pieces were just not arranged as well as they could have been.

At any rate, after the last job, I thought I could do the install at our new place in Evergreen, but once I discovered the existing tiles would not come off the wall without actually removing the entire wall and then rebuilding said wall, I gave up and called you all as we had just installed new granite countertops and I was too afraid of both screwing up the project AND the new counters. I found it hard to believe Kurt could remove and rebuild the wall in only about 6 hours, and then install all of the tile and fit it around the 8 electrical outlets in only part of the next two days. I did enough research to know that, even with experience, said jobs are about as complicated as they come, requiring a balance of patience and experience that I will never possess. Contracting this out was worth every penny.

To save me money, and despite being somewhat skeptical, Kurt talked me into using the leftover stone from our last job and blending it with the new order of stone that was slightly darker in color. I do not know how he pulled it off, but the blending makes the stone look more natural and pleasing to the eye, and I saved $80.

Further, Kurt would not accept further money for coming back after the job was complete to assist with solving an electrical issue that I am 99% sure was due to a faulty GFCI outlet (or shoddy wiring on my part).

So please accept our thanks and letter of recommendation to use how you please. We look forward to working with you all in the years to come on a master bath remodel and possibly turning the basement room into a livable space.

Best,

Kris and Sarah Venema

Evergreen Tile Company has impressed me. I have dealt with many contractors in my time (I'm 53) and I have learned how difficult it is to find not just quality workmanship but long-lasting sound workmanship. Evergreen Tile Company owned by Kurt and Pam Jakobson qualify for long-lasting sound workmanship. You won't be disappointed. Not only excellent skill but Kurt Jakobson gets the job done in a very expeditious manner, never jeopardizing his workmanship. I had to leave town for a short time and had to have a master bath shower put in as well as an upstairs guest bathroom/shower top to bottom remodel. Well after my return of just under a month all I can say is "I was impressed". Nothing like coming home to not just one but two new bathrooms. Kurt works tirelessly at his project with more energy than I have times ten. You want great craftsmanship in tile work and bathroom (or for that matter just about any project) and need it done in the shortest amount of time possible...call Evergreen Tile Company. You'll be glad you did.

Kurt and Pam,

Thank you so much for the beautiful new bathroom. The custom shower is a dream! Kurt is a true artist at his craft, the attention to detail and his personal touch to everything truly comes out in the end product. With Laura and I being so new to this type of process it would have been so easy for a contractor to take advantage of us; at no time throughout the remodel did we ever feel that we were being taken advantage of in fact it was the exact opposite. Walking us step by step through each part of the process and always getting our permission to do anything added assurance to us that the job was going to be completed properly and to our specifications. A special thanks for taking such care to protect the rest of the house. Every evening that Kurt left the house it was clean and fully functional, even the remodel bathroom was kept in a semi-functional condition 90% of the time. There was only a couple of days that we could not use at least part of the remodel bathroom. We are so very pleased with the outcome of our bath remodel, we will ask you to come back for our next project and we will be spreading the name of Evergreen Tile to everyone we meet.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Our 23 year old entry way and powder room was in need of a serious makeover when we called Kurt and Pam for an estimate. They had been personally referred by other satisfied customers and friends of ours. They listened closely to what we were trying to achieve and how we wanted to proceed, then prepared a reasonable estimate, so we authorized the work. Upon receipt of materials, Kurt started the project. He arrived every morning for two weeks and completed the work, taking care to minimize the effects of the demolition and construction on the rest of our house. We requested a couple of follow-up visits to provide the final finish and Kurt handled them promptly and efficiently.

Evergreen Tile Co. a one-stop shop for the entire project. No additional contractors or subcontractors were needed.

Our new entryway, powder room and laundry room has a custom look. We are delighted with Pam and Kurt’s professionalism and commitment to our satisfaction. We recommend them without reservation to anyone needing remodeling expertise. Thanks!

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a letter in reference to the work that Kurt and Pam did for us recently.

We had a shower that needed to be retiled on very short notice, and they were able to come to our location, look at the shower, bid the project, and walk us through each step of the process.

They were very good about meeting deadlines, working with us on our schedule, and seeing the project through to the end.

Kurt did amazing work, and did it in a way that the shower didn’t look like a construction site while he was not working on it.

Evergreen Tile Company is a great local business, and they are highly recommended.

Dear Pam and Kurt,

I wanted to let you know how very pleased we are with our beautiful new granite countertops! The finished product was exceptional, to say the least. Working with both of you was such a pleasant experience and we are already saving money for our next project with Evergreen Tile Company. We appreciate the fact that you completed the work in such a timely manner, just as you had promised. Thank you for adding the special touches like the extended bar top and installing the lighting in the bathroom. We will enjoy your work for many years to come!

Sincerely,

Pam & Curt,

Thank you for our beautiful new bathroom.  Your work is fantastic.  We are so glad we chose you to do the work.  We like your superior approach to build a custom poured concrete pan and we were very pleased with the time and effort you put into the project to make it special.  Lastly, we really enjoyed the way you were so organized and handled communications with us.  If anyone we know is starting a project we will recommend you enthusiastically.

I am writing as a reference for Pam and Kurt. They couldn't be any easier to work with. Both know the tile works inside and out and offer great suggestions. Kurt is a master at his work and if there is anything he can't fix, he will call in someone.
Some things to expect:
* A beautiful job done timely.
* Good craftmanship.
* Good communication.
* Lots of dust.
*Care of your furniture.
*Wonderful people to work with who see the job till the end.

Anne Keen December , 2007

We were finally about to awaken from our residential remodeling nightmare. After firing both our general contractor and his tile persona non grata, we put out an SOS (Save our Subfloor) to Pam & Kurt. They promptly responded and we showed them the botched start to our floor of dreams. Rather than us placing an anonymous call to the FBI that Jimmy Hoffa was buried underneath and let the shoveling begin, Kurt assured us that he would be able to transform it into a beautiful floor.  And transform it he did. Throw away the tranquilizers and the antidepressants! Kurt did a fantastic job. All the accolades that one could imagine would certainly apply to Pam & Kurt. Their bid was very reasonable and the job was done to perfection. Kurt and Pam are both professional and personable. We highly recommend them.  Thanks!

I am writing this letter of reference for Evergreen Tile Company, who has done extraordinary work for us on a couple of occasions. The first time they worked for us was to do some beautiful tile work in a bathroom. Their work transformed the room. We were so pleased with the work (and work ethic) that we contracted them to totally remodel our master bathroom.

The master bathroom project was a complete renovation. It involved removing walls, adding a toilet room, moving plumbing, adding a window, adding a new shower, and all the tile work. They also acted as a general contractor when it came to getting electricians and plumbers for the few pieces of the project they didn't personally perform.

We were thrilled with the results! The project turned out spectacular. What is most impressive, however, is not only the end result, but the work ethic throughout the project. We have dealt with enough contractors to know how painful many construction projects can be. Working with Kurt and Pam was simply a delight. They are extremely professional and do what they tell you they are going to do ...including showing up to work when they say they will. In today's work environment, that seems to be a very rare trait.

I would recommend Evergreen Tile Company without any hesitation.

If you are planning to have any tile work done in your home or business, I would highly recommend that you seek out Pam and Kurt Jakobson, owners of Evergreen Tile Company.

My husband and I moved into our 20-year old home in September, and began getting estimates to have our kitchen and three bathrooms remodeled. We initially hired another contractor for the kitchen and master bathroom, who ended up disappointing us, both with the quality of work and the delays we faced in getting things done before our deadline.

After months of frustration, we called Evergreen Tile Company in February, and Kurt was at our house to look at the two remaining bathrooms within 15 minutes. We signed a contract, and he began work bright and early the next Monday morning. During the two weeks it took to complete the work, Kurt arrived prepared to work promptly at 8:00 AM each day. He worked enthusiastically and quickly, while always being friendly and sociable. It was obvious that he was an experienced professional, and was able to offer his expert advice to ensure that we were able to make the right choices.

Kurt’s work was exceptional, and he took extra effort to produce interesting patterns in the tile. Although we were very happy with the results, there were two things we liked most about working with Evergreen Tile Company. First, both Kurt and Pam are excellent communicators. Our phone calls were always returned promptly, and our questions were answered without hesitation. When we told Kurt what we wanted, he clearly understood our vision and was able to design the bathrooms just they way we described. Secondly, they were very straight and honest with us. We paid what the contract said. There were no surprise added costs. Kurt was also able to install sinks and plumbing, saving us from having to hire a plumber, which we really appreciated.

If we ever need more tile work done, we will call Evergreen Tile Company first.

It was a great experience working with Kurt and Pam, and our bathroom remodel exceeded our expectations. Kurt offered some great and creative ideas with tile patterns which added an extra professional touch. The work always remained on schedule and was completed with minimal disruption to our daily routine, which was greatly appreciated. Their experience and knowledge also helped us in making good design decisions. We love our new bathroom - thanks Kurt and Pam!!!!

Evergreen Tile Company recently completed tiling my office in a patterned style. I am extremely satisfied with the craftsmanship and professionalism of the job. The installation was flawless. The timeliness and commitment to schedule was excellent. Regards for the satisfaction of the client was a priority for Evergreen Tile Company.

The price charged for the installation was both fair and competitive. We look forward to having Evergreen Tile Company back to tile our residence living room.

We had the opportunity for Kurt and Pam to do another project for us. The first project they did for us was to tile our laundry room. They both were very professional and kept to the schedule agreed upon. They helped with the design of the tile and the work was excellent.

When we decided that out kitchen needed some tile work, Kurt & Pam were the first people to come to mind because of the work they had previously done for us. This project was very difficult because we did not know exactly what we wanted done. Pam and Kurt came to our house the same day we called and had great ideas for us. The schedule again was met. Our kitchen turned out so beautifully because of their ideas and workmanship.

When we have another project we will call on ETC to do the job. They simply are the best!

Thanks again Kurt & Pam.

A RARE FIND. We recently remodeled our bathroom. I had called 6 contractors for bids. I left recorder messages with four, talked to a rude secretary at one, and talked to one knowledgeable, competent real person. The four companies with whom I left messages never responded. The real person turned out to be Pam Jakobson at Evergreen Tile Company. What a pleasure to work with them, and what true craftsmanship they practice. Pam and her husband Kurt personally work on and supervise each job. I never talked to an answering machine. They talked to me every day and let me participate in every decision. They started the job promptly and didn't miss a day until it was finished. They gave a detailed, fixed price bid before the job started and didn't ask for final payment until I was 110% satisfied. ETC does everything, tile, granite, glass block, and complete remodels.

Tony G.

Evergreen Tile Company gave us an outstanding tile job. They showed up on time, every time. Their advice on tile layout and borders made our bathroom extraordinary, and we are so happy with it.

Dear Kurt & Pam,

WE LOVE OUR FLOOR! We can't thank you enough for your hard work and beautiful craftsmanship & artistry. The tile has transformed our home - we still can't get over the change. And you know, it's not cold at all.

We look forward to your friendship and are gladly referring you to anyone who needs professional tile work!

Kurt & Pam,

I LOVE MY BATHROOM!!!!! This is so much better than I could even imagine!

Thanks so much for doing such a fantastic job on my floors. I'm really happy with the way everything turned out. You guys have been great to work with. Let me know if I can serve as a reference for you in the future.

Thanks again!

Dear Pam & Kurt,

Thank you so much for the spreader knives. Too bad I didn't open your package sooner as I could have used them at the party. Was so glad you could come and enjoy the raves about your tile artwork. Everybody was very impressed. Thanks again for everything.
